Our club AGM as held on 8th November, and I am happy to report that the club is in good financial situation (having spent over $43,000 on our projects), and that the following members have been appointed for the 2023/24 Rotary Year:
Each year Nestle donates specially themed 1.9kg Milo Tins to help local Rotary Clubs raise funds for food relief. This year the Geelong Rotary Clubs received 496 tins which if sold for $25 will generate $12,400 in profit. They also donated $5,000 cash which will be donated to 5 food relief charities, and 196 tins returned by Charters Towers Rotary which were unsold last year. These Charters Towers tins have been donated to 50 organisations, such as schools for their breakfast programs, Christ Church Homeless Meals program, and Food Banks such as Feed Geelong & Feed Bellarine. Our club was supplied 84 tins of which we sold 38 at Beckley Park & within the club to members to raise $954.45 which is being donated to Christ Church (along with $1,000 from $5,000 above). Sales from our remaining tins will go to Geelong Food Relief Centre in North Geelong (along with $1,000 from $5,000 above). We have subsequently sold 11 cans with further sales in the planning which will hopefully sell the remaining stock of tins. Thank you to members who helped sell cans.
Kardinia Rotary is once again selling the Geelong Gourmet Goodies Christmas Gift Boxes for 2022. All contents are sourced from Geelong area businesses, so all purchases are supporting Geelong, and the profits are all going to Rotary Projects. The gift boxes are great value and the ideal gift for family and friends, or the person 'that has everything', as well as being a great way to thank staff, contractors and clients for their support over the year. There are $55, $80 and $120 boxes; ideal for all budgets. (Details of what is included in each of the boxes can be found in the attached order form.)
KARDINIA ROTARY WILL ALSO PAY OUR CLUB $5 for each $55 box, $10 for each $80 box, and $15 for each $120 box that are sold through our Club. Just nominate our Club when ordering.
Orders do close on 21st November, so please place your orders as soon as possible to facilitate production by the suppliers. All deliveries will be made on or near 13th December, or earlier by arrangement.

The result of the voting for the Regionalisation pilot project in District 9780 was that the great majority of our Districts clubs voted. The result of the vote to approve the regionalisation project in District 9780 was 91% of clubs approving of the project.
There are 57 Rotary and Rotaract clubs in the district, 52 voted for, 1 against and four clubs did not vote and thus recorded a no vote.
Rotary International President Jennifer Jones appeared on the main stage at the star-studded Global Citizen Festival on 24 September to highlight Rotary’s commitment to eradicating polio and announce an additional US$150 million pledge toward that end.
Jones, who spoke in front of 60,000 people in New York City and tens of thousands more online and on TV, noted the state of emergency that the governor of New York state recently declared to combat a resurgence of polio in the region.
