Sariri Village, PNG
This village on the North Coast of Papua New Guinea was totally wiped out by a cyclone in 2007. Our club received a call for assistance. With support from other Rotary Clubs, equipment was supplied and teams of Rotarians assisted the villagers to rebuild. They now have houses, a school, clean water and are self-sufficient but will need ongoing assistance.

Nabavatu Village, Fiji
This is one of the poorest rural districts of Fiji. Teams of Rotarians helped villagers to obtain clean water and to construct housing, toilets and showers. Our club also provided books, computers and equipment for the primary and high schools as well as health screening equipment. Club members assisted the villagers to establish a fishing industry to provide an income. Support is on-going.

Maternal Health, PNG
This year, the club sponsored Gauis Sabumei, a field researcher at PNG Institute of Medical Research, to address the "Leadership for the Next Generation" conference at Deakin University. He described the innovative measures they were taking to make improvements in maternal health centres in the Milne Bay Province with AusAID support.
